We’re backing Joe!

I believe Joe brings the new blood, fresh ideas and renewed energy that the Labour Party in Scotland needs at this important moment. His nomination is an opportunity to turn the page, build on our strengths and reconnect with people and communities across Scotland with a clear sense of purpose and optimism. A fresh start is not about rejecting the past or disregarding experience. It is about learning from what has gone before, taking the best of it forward, and having the confidence to do things differently where change is needed. Joe brings enthusiasm, new thinking and a genuine determination to listen, engage and rebuild relationships with communities across Scotland. His nomination offers a real opportunity for renewal — to restore confidence, broaden Labour’s appeal and build a stronger, more united and outward-looking Scottish Labour movement. Above all, Joe can help put winning back the trust and support of people across Scotland at the heart of what we do.

I am Joe because I like and admire what he offers and brings to the Scottish Labour Party, with regards to leadership experience and new ideas from outside Holyrood. These are most attractive attributes, which will give our people back the hope that has been lost

I wish the government would consider when benifits reach the taxable allowance of workers pay they should pay the tax on their benefits this would raise more refinue for the government to hopefully use wisely unlike the monkies that are running and waisting Scotland otherwise known as SNP & the Greens

I read about Joe's experience as a leader with the council and as an MSP. I believe that his positive attitudes and his wish to improve services are beneficial. He represents people from various walks of life, which is an important attribute that I should support.

I think Joe and I have the same background the same values and know about inequality growing up.

Joe has been an excellent leader of South Lanarkshire Council. He has shown the value of collaborative working and used that to get things done. He has a truly socialist vision of the future for Scottish Labour. Go Joe!

As a former GMB shop steward/Branch secretary I fully endorse Joe's aim to make labour again the party of working class people.

We need a young person in this role – someone with energy and new ideas. Seen him on STV leadership debate and he seemed honest, intelligent and genuinely focused on improving the lives of people living in Scotland.

I’m voting for Joe Fagan in the Scottish Labour leadership contest. Michael Marra had a significant hand in the decisions, policies and manifesto that got us to where we are now. He’s had his chance. Continuity under the same approach won’t fix what’s gone wrong. Joe Fagan has a proven track record as leader of South Lanarkshire Council. He delivered for communities on the ground, and that experience is exactly what the party needs right now. He’ll invigorate Scottish Labour, root it back in real places and real people’s lives, and give us the fresh energy and direction required to win again. That’s why I’m backing Joe.

I am backing Joe Because I want to see a bolder Labour Party I am so worried that our local councillor Mooney who works so hard to help the local people in my area , I hear reform being mentioned at the doorways and that’s because nothing changes whoever is in charge ,I am really worried about next election in approx 2029 I would like to see you visit our community and shake hands with local people not slip in for an hour couple of picture for press then away again , if I can give you one piece of advice . Please be visible walk among the poor areas that is were the vote is going to reform from labour ,

I’ve seen what Joe has achieved as a council leader and his ability to build consensus both within and outside our party.
